The community of Notre Dame will host the Conservative nomination meeting for Carman constituency.

That decision was made by the Conservative Party's nominating committee, which overrides a decision by the local executive to hold it in Somerset.

Party President Brent Pools says they expect in excess of 1000 members to turn out for the nomination meeting in Notre Dame November 16th.

About 919 members have registered so far.

Pools says the nominating committee felt the facility in Somerset could not accommodate such a large gathering.

He adds Notre Dame is a more central location for the event.
