Zach Collaros completed 21-of-32 passes for 301 yards and Willie Jefferson returned a Dane Evans interception 30 yards for a pick six as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers downed the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 26-12 Friday night at IG Field. Brady Oliveira ran for 56 yards and a one-yard touchdown late in the second quarter. Nic Denski caught six passes for 96 yards before leaving the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury. The Bombers improved to 3-0 and will face the Argonauts in Toronto on Monday, July 4th.


The Winkler Flyers will open the 2022-23 Manitoba Junior Hockey League regular season schedule against the Freeze in Winnipeg on Friday, September 16th. The Flyers will play their home opener the following night against the Winnipeg Blues.


The Western Hockey League champion Edmonton Oil Kings lost their round robin finale 4-2 to the Ontario Hockey League champion Hamilton Bulldogs and were eliminated at the Memorial Cup in New Brunswick. The host St. John Sea Dogs play their round robin finale tonight against the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Shawinigan Cataractes.


Clearwater plated three runs in the bottom of the third inning and downed Morden 4-2. That’s the Mudhens first loss after starting the 2022 Border Baseball League season with seven straight wins. Winkler was leading Baldur 5-3 when their game was suspended in the fourth inning. Cartwright’s game at Carman was postponed.


The Winnipeg Goldeyes game in Lincoln was postponed. The Fish and Saltdogs will play a pair of seven inning games today.
