Emergency crews, including Altona Rhineland Emergency Services (ARES), ambulance, police and STARS Air Ambulance responded to a medical incident Wednesday evening at a new home under construction in Altona.

According to ARES Chief Greg Zimmerman firefighters assisted with extricating the youth before they were loaded onto a STARS helicopter, which had landed in an open field just west of the site, located on 2nd Street SW.

The patient was transported to hospital in Winnipeg.
