The Prairie Rose School Division (PRSD) is in the second year of a four-year Applied Commerce Education (ACE) program.

The ACE program consists of 14 courses between grades 9-12. In addition to their course work, the program's highly engaged students participate in scholarship competitions, as well as commerce competitions around the province.

Earlier this spring, 42 students attended the Manitoba High School Case Competition in Brandon. It was hosted by Hamiota Collegiate and Crocus Plains High School.

There were two categories that students competed in at the competition, Personal Finance and Entrepreneurship. 

PRSD had 5 teams place in the competition:
      a) Sophia Bullert, Joleen Neumann, Lily Montgomery - Second Place - Personal Finance - Awarded a trophy (St. Paul's Collegiate)
      b) Zander Cox, Dane Bergen, Taylor Thiessen - Third Place - Entrepreneurship - Awarded a trophy (Carman Collegiate)
      c) Owen Tully, Jayden Chapellaz, Eden Heasler - Fourth Place - Entrepreneurship (St. Paul's Collegiate)
      d) Katelyn McKenzie, Justine Qually, Elisabeth Bowland - Fifth Place - Personal Finance (St. Paul's Collegiate)
      e) Angel Nemshon-Fraize, Mirage Tiamzon, Megan Donaghy - Fifth Place - Entrepreneurship (St. Paul's Collegiate)

Five teams (of 5 students each) represented PRSD at the 2023 Red River College Polytechnic High School Commerce Competition in March. That included one team each from Miami School, Carman Collegiate, Elm Creek School, St. Paul's Collegiate, and one combined St. Laurent School /Elm Creek School team.

The team from Miami School placed FIRST out of all teams competing from around the province. The Miami School team consisted of: Kaiden Dyck (grade 11), Lincoln Koscielny (grade 11), Hannah Graham (grade 10), Addison Bruce (grade 10), and Liam Dyck (grade 9)

The University of Manitoba Stu Clark High School Pitch Workshop & Competition is coming up on June 1st.

Fifteen students from the Prairie Rose School Division were chosen to attend the event. It was a competitive application process managed by the University of Manitoba, and only 50 students were selected from across the province to go.
