Wednesday morning brought another In the Mayor's Chair conversation, this time around with Morden Mayor Nancy Penner. Agenda item number one was the start of another season of events downtown.

"The Morden Suncatch is open and in full swing," shared Penner. "Menzies Medical Centre had a sold out fundraising hotdog lunch last week, Seven Pines, a phenomenal Filipino cover band from Morden, played last Friday and the 126th Philippine Independence Day was celebrated last Saturday."

If you want to book space at the Suncatch, just email recreation@mymorden.ca . Meanwhile, Mayor Penner and council will be hosting a meet and greet at the Suncatch Tuesday, June 25th and again Tuesday, July 16th.

The Mayor also noted recent issues regarding what's been going into some blue bins.

"When a load is detected that contained organic materials, like grass clippings or kitchen waste, from one blue bin, the whole load is rejected," she explained. "This results in the load going to the landfill which costs the city, or should I say, your tax payer dollars."

You can find out what you can, and can not, put into your blue bin, here .
