Soil testing season is upon us, and an official from Manitoba Agriculture is encouraging producers to have their fields sampled.

Crop Nutrition Specialist David Hay says on a per acre basis testing is relatively inexpensive, and in the end can save farmers a lot of money.

He adds by testing growers get an accurate report of the nutrient status of their fields.

Hay suggests growers should test every field.

If that's not financially feasible he says begin with those fields which have gone the longest without testing, and work up from there.
