Winkler police have charged two 19-year-old men they say are responsible for stealing a vehicle from a Winkler business and committing additional break-ins in a nearby community.

On December 29th, police were notified that a vehicle had been stolen from the business, located on Airport Drive. Upon speaking with the business owner and viewing video surveillance footage, officers suspected an employee to have committed the theft. Through further investigation, police determined there to be a second suspect.

Both were later arrested and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

During interviews, police say the first suspect admitted that he and the other suspect stole the vehicle and were also involved in additional break-ins in a nearby community.

The two males, both of whom are not residents of Winkler, were also charged in relation to the break-ins.

Both were later released on undertakings and scheduled to appear in Morden Provincial Court.
