With somewhere between 80 and 90mm of rainfall hitting Winkler on Canada Day, the city is urging residents to again limit water use.

"We are asking Winkler residents to conserve water for the remainder of today (Tuesday, July 2nd)," stated a social media post Tuesday morning.

"Due to the very heavy rainfall we had yesterday, our pumpstations are overwhelmed! To prevent the risk of sewer back up and other flooding issues please conserve water for the remainder of the day," noted the post.

Officials are also reminding residents to ensure sump pumps are draining outside, away from your home and not into the city's sanitary system.
