The 8 men vying for the 6 seats on Winkler city council outlined their platforms and fielded various questions at the all candidates forum in Winkler last night.

Incumbent councillors Herb Dick, Ron Neufeld, Marvin Plett, and Ken J. Wiebe, as well as nominees Henry Siemens, Mike Blatz, Randy Rietze, and Lloyd Thiessen explained to the crowd at the P.W. Enns Centennial Concert Hall last night why they deserved to have a spot at the council table.

There were a number of issues that all the men had in common.

The need for affordable housing, spending the taxpayers money more efficiently and maintaining the city's infrastructure were just a few of the issues discussed.

A call for a Public Safety Building for the crowded Police Service and Fire Department was also echoed by a number of the candidates.

Election day is October 25th.
