Winkler Mayor Henry Siemens and CFAM Radio 950 Morning show Co-Host Chris Sumner connected Wednesday morning for another In the Mayor's Chair. The two spent some time reflecting on the new N.D.P. government's first Throne Speech, which was delivered Tuesday afternoon in the Legislature. Siemens  was at the event.

"It's nice to be able to hear the government's priorities, and what they are going to be working on and how they're going to support us as municipalities," he said. "I think, the vision of the government, is an important piece to be able to present that to the community, and I appreciated the opportunity to attend on Winkler's behalf."

Meanwhile, looking ahead to Friday night starting at 6:30 p.m., Winkler will welcome the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting event at Bethel Heritage Park.

"We'll have Santa Claus on hand, we'll be handing out candy canes, we'll have hot apple cider courtesy of Dead Horse Cider, Co-op will be on site making s'mores, as well."
