The construction of new space to house the MRI at Boundary Trails Health Centre is still in the planning stages.

A purchase order for the MRI has been submitted.

Central RHA Interim CEO Helmuth Klassen says they are now focusing on the expansion at Boundary Trails that will accommodate the equipment.

The total project is estimated to cost $7 million, but Klassen admits that could change quickly in today's volatile construction market.

He says the RHA has accounted for inflationary costs in its budget.

Klassen is optimistic construction could start in early 2007.
