Another bear sighting, this time northwest of Altona

There has been another bear sighting in the area, this time around it came Monday between Altona and Horndean.

Elliot Rempel spotted the bear near his yard northwest of Altona.

"This is the first time I personally have seen a bear in the area," he shared with PembinaValleyOnline. "It was a quarter mile from our yard, to the north, and it was walking west at a fast pace. Once it crossed the road it started running northwest."

This is the second black bear sighting reported to PembinaValleyOnline over the past month and a half. The previous occurrence was May 15th when multiple people spotted a bear northeast of Altona and near St. Joseph.
