Clean-up from Monday's bout of high winds has been put on pause in Altona.

According to Environment Canada, wind gusts topped out at 100 km/h in town.

Public works manager, Clint Derksen, says after two days, crews needed to get back to regular duties around town like grass cutting, larviciding and prepping the downtown for next week's summer kick-off.

Overall, Derksen estimates about 10 streets were fully blocked by felled trees and branches Monday morning, and there were many more one-lane blockages. He was happy to report none of the 180 young trees planted around town this month were damaged.

Next week, crews will properly take care of the several tree limbs that remain downed and the damaged trees that need to be taken down.
