Morden Collegiate is celebrating its Class of 2024.

Nick Wiebe has the role of valedictorian this year.

Wiebe’s message to his fellow graduates is to pursue creativity in all its iterations.

“I think the biggest thing that I want the [Class of 2024] to come away with is just [to] know that they can be creative outside of school,” says Wiebe. “[F]or so long, we've just been in class . . . creating for the teachers over and over again, and to fully express yourself and become who you are, you have to be creative in some sort of space [outside that].”

The creativity that graduates have had the opportunity to practice in the classroom does not require a certain type to be beneficial for the future, according to Wiebe.

“It doesn't have to be limited to music and art and drawing . . . . [It can be] going to work, new strategies, [and] creating new templates.”

Wiebe stresses that regardless of which field graduates find themselves in, there is space to enliven it with new ideas gained through creative processes.

For Morden Collegiate’s 2024 valedictorian, it is through this route that the graduating class will make discoveries about themselves moving forward.

“Everyone is created differently, and everyone needs to find what their purpose is so that they can live their life.”

Congratulations to Morden Collegiate’s Class of 2024.
