A 27-year-old woman is due in court this Fall after a pair of run-ins with Morden police last Saturday

Shortly after 2 a.m., officers were called to an assault in progress where the victim indicated he'd been punched by his common law partner. The woman was arrested and charged with assault, then released on an undertaking.

Twelve hours later, at 2 p.m., police were notified that the woman, who was on conditions not to contact the caller, had in fact done so several times and even showed up at his apartment, causing damage.

Officers arrested the woman again, this time for failing to comply with an undertaking, and she was released on an appearance notice.

She is scheduled to attend court in September.

A novice driver has been suspended for 90 days after he was caught Saturday driving under the influence.

Morden police say officers on general patrol noticed a vehicle swerve within its lane several times before they pulled it over. That's when they found open cans of beer on the floor and in the backseat.

The driver ended up failing a roadside screening test.

His vehicle was also impounded for 30 days, and he's been issued fines and penalties worth just over $1,000.
