"It feels very surreal. I'm excited to see what comes next, but I'll also miss everybody and all of my teachers." That from Sofya Polynko, the valedictorian for the graduating class of 2024 at Winkler's Northlands Parkway Collegiate (NPC).

A graduation ceremony is happening today.

In her valedictorian speech, Polynko says her goal was to relay a message of peace and hope.

"I want everyone to know that it's going to be alright and no matter what you do in the future, it'll be great, and I hope that everyone stays positive."

"I want everyone to know that it's going to be alright and no matter what you do in the future, it'll be great, and I hope that everyone stays positive."

And what will Polynko miss most about high school?

"I think something I'll miss most would probably be being on the debate team and doing all of these debates because it really allowed me to get out there and see what other people had to say".

She also spoke about something she didn't like about high school.

"I think COVID would probably be my least favorite part, mostly because I wasn't able to really see everybody, and it was very hard to learn from home. It just would have been easier in a space with other students."

Congratulations to NPC's Class of 2024.
