The lack of standing water is having a positive impact on mosquitoes capable of carrying the West Nile Virus.
Doctor Susan Roberecki says it's slowing the development of culex tarsalis mosquitoes.
However, the heat is having the opposite effect.
The number of culex tarsalis mosquitoes this week is much the same as last week.
But Doctor Roberecki notes if we get a lot of rain and the warm weather continues, things can quickly change.
