Manitoba's first confirmed case of BSE hasn't been too hard on the marketplace.
That from Keith Robertson executive director of the Manitoba Cattle Producers Association.
He says they certainly don't enjoy finding more cases of BSE but so far the industry has taken it in stride.
Canada can have up to 11 cases of BSE each year and still keep its minimal risk status.
He says this cow never left the farm since it was purchased in 1992 and did not enter the animal or human feed chain.
That shows the BSE surveillance program is doing what it is designed to do.
Their next step at MCPA is to watch and wait for more details to emerge.
