Similar to its neighbour just a few miles east,  the City of Morden is also asking residents to cut back in water use.

"Morden is currently experiencing an unprecedented volume of rainfall, resulting in an overload of our sewer systems," stated social media posts issued shortly after 6.p.m Friday.

"In response to this situation, we urge all residents to minimize water usage or, if possible, to temporarily cease water use entirely until further notice. This measure is critical to reducing the strain on our sewer infrastructure."

City staff are actively working to expedite the return to normal sewer functionality.

"We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in conserving water during this time," concluded the post.
