It's a big weekend in Morris for curlers, but it's also a big weekend for the Red River Valley Parent-Child Center because December 1st and 2nd is their Holiday Fundraiser.

Cheryl Crick, executive director of the Red River Valley Parent-Child Center, is very excited to bring this event back after missing it for a couple years. Not only will there be many vendors but also workshops.

"One of our biggest things that we're doing is we are putting on free workshops. Well, craft workshops. So on the Friday evening we will have three different craft workshops that are free that they can come and and make. And then on Saturday we have a variety of adults and children's craft workshops that they can come down and make as well."

Cheryl also explained where the funds raiser from this event will be going.

"The money goes towards our programming of our literacy program. We are our nonprofit organization that's run through the Healthy Child Coalition and we provide literacy programs for parents and children and caregivers for ages zero to five years old."

This two day event offers a chance to get into the holiday spirit, all while supporting a good cause. Here's what Cheryl is most looking forward to.

"The community coming out and supporting the Red River Valley Parent and Child Center and also just to get that Christmas feel. We'll have Christmas music playing and people can just come and visit and do a little shopping as well."
