Each firefighter that was a part of the Winkler Fire Department when the new hall opened has left a lasting legacy in front of the building. Chief Garry Klassen says they had each fire fighters name engraved in a paving stone along with the city council and laid them in the patio area by the hall's flag poles.

Klassen says each fire fighter paid for their own brick to be placed in that front patio. He adds they also laid the stones themselves and it's something they can really be proud of.

Klassen says this is a great way to commemorate the members that were involved in the opening of this new hall and it's a conversation piece, which is always good to have.

The Winkler Fire Hall is holding it's Grand Opening Celebration today.
