Work is underway on the heating system at W.C. Miller Collegiate in Altona.

Borderland School Division Maintenance Coordinator Barry Friesen says the project is worth just under $900,000.

He says the new system will be much more efficient, using hot water instead of steam.

Crews are also busy re-roofing the administration part of the school.

The cost of that project is roughly $200,000.

Both projects are supposed to be done by the beginning of September.
