Two people from Winnipeg have been arrested following an armed robbery in Morden late Monday evening.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., several people reported being robbed at gunpoint at a room on North Railway Street, and one of the victims had been assaulted. 

The suspects had fled the scene before officers arrived, but police were able to get an address from a vehicle associated with one of the suspects. Before heading to apartment were the owner confirmed the two were, extra officers were brought in from the Winkler Police Service and both K-9 units.
    
According to police, the suspects were disobeying commands to exit and surrender but, after a brief standoff, they followed directions and were safely taken into custody.
    
After an extensive search, police found the firearm used in the robbery - a sawed-off shot gun.
    
As a result of this investigation, A 25-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, Point a Firearm, Carry a Weapon for the Purpose of Committing an Offence, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Firearm without a Licence, Fail to comply with a Probation Order and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon while being bound by a Prohibition Order.

Also, 24-year-old man Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, Point a Firearm, Carry a Weapon for the Purpose of Committing an Offence, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of a Firearm without a Licence.

Both were remanded into custody with a court date set for today in Winnipeg.
