The Morden and District Chamber of Commerce has strengthened its focus on marketing.

President Kent Winning says they have come to this position because of a number of factors.

Their operating expenses have increased, and government support has decreased.

Winning notes there have been some missed opportunities where services are not being provided, and they plan to change that.

This includes trade shows and speaker presentations which would benefit the local businesses.

These events would be a source of revenue for the Chamber, but the challenge is getting everything lined up.

Winning says their goal is to re-evaluate what they are doing to try and figure out how they can be of better service to the business community, and to the community at large.

The other part of their goal is to become as self-sufficient and as beneficial as possible.
