Staying active in the winter months is a big part of enjoying the season, and the City of Winkler is kicking off a new FREE initiative to help residents reach those goals. It's called "Move It Monday's" at the Meridian Exhibition Centre.

"It's an exciting thing we're doing at the Meridian Exhibition Centre to gets some free programs out there to help people get out there and get your body moving," explained Mayor Henry Siemens for In the Mayor's Chair Wednesday morning on CFAM Radio 950. "We're partnering with Central Station who will be providing coffee and snacks on each one of the Monday's between February 5th and April 15th. What we're going to have is a free 18+ skate, Parent and Tot turf time, Open turn and lawn games. It's really just an opportunity for people to come to the facility, and see the fabulous facility that's there and get their bodies moving."

The Mayor also shared in his conversation with Morning Show Host Chris Sumner how annual planning for council and senior staff begins today, and what some of the things are that will be discussed over the next couple days.
