A plan is finally in place for the redevelopment of the Morden Recreation Centre.

Mayor John Wiens says it will be done in three phases to create as little disruption to the daily operations as possible.

Phase one will see renovations to the kitchen, servery, new washrooms and a separate entrance for the hall.

Phase two will include an addition to the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame to provide extra storage and office space.

At that time, an upgrade to the exterior of the building will be completed to give it a whole new look.

A provision is also being made during phase two for one racquetball court.

Phase three will see cosmetics done to the foyer and meeting rooms, basement renovations and fire code requirements.

Meanwhile, Wiens says with the increase in construction costs they have had to make some changes to the plan to keep the project as close to their $2 million budget as possible.

They hope to get the project underway by March 2007 with completion by year end.
