The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 0-2 to start a season for the first time in eight years. Former Blue Bombers quarterback Dru Brown completed 20-of-33 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown as the Ottawa RedBlacks defeated Winnipeg 23-19. Johnny Augustine and back-up quarterback Chris Streveler had short touchdown runs for the Bombers. The game was delayed for an hour due to lightning and heavy rain with 2:09 left on the clock and the Winnipeg offense on the RedBlacks 42-yard line. When play resumed and the Blue Bombers trailing by six points, Zach Collaros completed passes to Dalton Schoen and Drew Wolitarsky to take Winnipeg inside Ottawa’s seven-yard line. The Blue Bombers had three tries at the end zone, but two incompletions and a sack snuffed out the threat. Winnipeg's next game is at home Friday, June 21st against the B.C. Lions.

Logan Speers, Lindsey Miller and Kapri Currie did the goal scoring as Morden U17 Eagles downed South Winnipeg Community Centre 3-1 in the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association's Recreation Division. Stevie Myers was stellar in net for the Eagles.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes begin a nine-game homestand tonight when they meet the Sioux City Explorers at Blue Cross Park. The Fish (16-15) are fourth place in the American Association's West Division. The Goldeyes are 3.5 games back of the first place Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
