Riley Goertzen scored twice and Derek Wiebe had a goal and two assists as Pembina Valley defeated the Transcona Railer Express 5-4. Kyle Van Deynze and Brett Bergman also scored for the Twisters who extended their winning streak to 10 games. Pembina Valley (18-8-1-1) is in second place in the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League, one point ahead of the Charleswood Hawks. 


Emma Durand scored in regulation and potted the only goal of the shootout as Pembina Valley shaded the Interlake Lightning 2-1. Hawks goaltender Kasia Rakowski made 21 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped all three Lightning shootout attempts. 


Canada won bronze at the 2024 World Women's U18 Hockey Championship Sunday in Zug, Switzerland. Caitlin Kraemer of Waterloo, Chloe Primerano of North Vancouver and Abby Stonehouse of Blenheim, Ontario scored two goals each as Canada downed Finland 8-1. Avery Pickering of St. Adolphe and Sara Manness of La Salle were on Team Canada's roster. The United States defeated Czechia 5-1 in the gold medal game. 


Nolan Flamand, Matteo Michels and Quinn Mantei scored third period goals in the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-4 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders at Westoba Place. Hayden Wheddon, Rylen Roersma and Carter Klippenstein also scored for the Wheat Kings. Ethan Eskit made 32 saves in net for Brandon. The game was tied 2-2 after the first period and 3-3 after forty minutes.


Emma Woods scored in overtime and Elm Creek's Corinne Schroeder made 39 saves as New York edged Minnesota 3-2. The loss is Minnesota’s first of the PWHL season after the team had won its first three games, all in regulation.
