Winkler police have arrested two people following a drug trafficking investigation. 
    
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. last Friday, officers pulled over a car on Pembina Avenue near 15th Street, where the two occupants were placed under arrest as part of the investigation. 
    
A search of the vehicle, with help from PSD Juno, resulted in the seizure of approximately 0.85 grams of Cocaine, Approximately 0.41 grams of Crack Cocaine, and a digital scale.
    
Later that evening, around 10:47 p.m., a search warrant was executed on a home in the 500 block of Park Street with assistance from the Regional Support Tactical Team. There police seized approximately 128.34 grams of Cocaine worth an estimated street value of $12,800, approximately 11.07 grams of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), $2,175 cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia as well as items used in the production of Crack Cocaine,

As a result of this investigation, a 43-year-old man from Winkler will be charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule III Substance – Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), Production of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

A 28-year-old woman, also from Winkler, will be charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Both were released on Undertakings with a court date set for  November 8, 2022 in Morden.
