The town of Morden is once again picking up Christmas trees for recycling.

However, Director of Community Services Barry Elliott says their intent  is slightly different this year.

He says they are also involved in a partnership this year with the Pembina Valley Conservation District who will be taking some of the trees for a creek bank stabilization project they are working on in the R.M. of Stanley.

Elliott says if you have yet to dispose of your tree, leave it on the curb with your garbage next week to be picked up by the town.

He adds there will likely be some chipping down from the trees as well as from branches that have been pruned from around town.
