Garden Valley School Division is facing yet another challenge thanks to the growth in the area.

Superintendent Dom Wilkins says they have a shortage of bus drivers.

He says they grew by over 170 students this year which forced them to create five new bus routes.

A spin-off problem because of this is the inability to have the winter bus run in Winkler which usually starts November 1st.

Wilkins says they have been fortunate that the weather has cooperated so far.

Wilkins says they have six people training to become drivers but that is not enough.

He says they will basically take over runs being handled by the divisions spare drivers.
