When Jacob Penner arrived in Canada from Russia in 1904, he wasn't where he wanted to be, but by 1919, he became known as “A Champion for the Working Man” and eventually City Councilor for the City of Winnipeg. Archivist Conrad Stoesz from the Mennonite Heritage Archives in Winnipeg tells Jacob's life story on Episode Four of Still Speaking.

You can listen to Still Speaking Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays live on our station at 12:30pm.
