Plum Coulee's Riley Unger, who plays out of the Southwood Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg, is in fifth place and Matthew Loewen of Winkler is in a tie for sixth at the midway point of the Manitoba Men's Amateur Golf Championship. Unger was one-over par 73 Tuesday at Breezy Bend and has a 36-hole total of 144. He's seven shots back of second round leader Peter More of Breezy Bend. Loewen was one-under par 71 yesterday and is at 146. Tyson Ehnes of Morden, who also plays out of Southwood, is in a tie for 23rd spot. He was 73 and is at 151. Matt Dodds and Kevin Giesbrecht of Carman are in a tie for 44th place at 156. Giesbrecht was 76 yesterday while Dodds was 77. Michael Franz and Andrew Wall of Winkler both missed the cut-line which was 159. Franz was 78 and finished at 161. Wall was 79 and finished at 163. Sixty-four golfers made the cut for the final two rounds.
